Deceptive, Uninformed, or Dangerous Naïveté ?

by Bruce Johnson

The Presidential miasma of deception and delusion appears steeped in a dangerous naïveté.

Then it struck me.  Perhaps the President really doesn't know the facts.  This would explain the emptiness of his speeches that are froth with platitudes, banalities and rely on a rhythmic delivery akin to  a " revival tent " call and response .  Maybe he has been kept in such an information bubble, controlled apparently by Jarett and Axelrod, that the President is only fed what the "keepers" want delivered.

Maybe, per his Letterman appearance, he really believes that the world is keeping our interest rates low by buying  our debt. This would suggest he doesn't know or understand Quantitative Easing, or the impact of credit rating declines.

Perhaps he was told that Holder really didn't know of the program that started in his term, and that they just can't find the highest official in the DOJ who was aware of Fast and Furious.
Maybe the President merely likes to speak to crowds, get applause, golf, and travel in style. No need for intel briefings all the time.  Can't miss those fund raisers.  Too tough to reschedule.
"According to the public schedule of the president, the last time the Obama attended his daily intelligence meeting was Sept. 5 - a week before Islamist radicals stormed our embassy in Cairo and terrorists killed our ambassador to Tripoli" Article Why go to intel meetings the week before the 9/11 anniversary?  Maybe embassy security might have come up, and a decision might have to be made.
Obama seems to wish things to happen and suspects that his desire is all that is required.
To wit: Is this his Mideast policy?
"The message to the Muslim world is this. We expect you to work with us to keep our people safe. ....we expect their full cooperation because that's the only way the international order works."  Obama. Video
Can an "expectation" be a foreign policy?

Several of our embassies have been invaded, our personnel killed, and our flag replaced with Al Qaeda banners.  We are led to believe it was more about a movie that any failure in foreign policy, reaction to Obama spiking the Bin Laden football, or any shortfalls in Obama diplomacy.

Resetting and Whispering to Russians
What of Obama's whispering to Medvedev about possible future flexibilities he will enjoy after the election?  Article.  Does he think we are "resetting" with the Russians as they provide helicopters (and likely pilots) to Syria, a submarine to Iran, and has engaged in a rearming of their own nuclear submarines with new missile technology.  Article.

The START negotiations seemed to have been an over accommodation and have placed alarming restraints on our missile defenses.
"New START fails to speak to the issue of protecting and defending the U.S. and its allies against strategic attack and imposes restrictions on U.S. missile defense options." Read More.
This appears to be a dangerous naïveté or a severely misinformed President, or both.
